Chavara Academy is exclusively a CBSE Secondary School following CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) pattern offering and provides co-education. It is a Catholic Minority Institution run by CMI Service Society of Mary Matha Vice- Province Bellampally. The School is named after the founder of CMI Congregation – Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-1871). He was a man of great vision and a great educationist who brought about revolutionary changes in the field of education in the 19th century in Kerala. He started Pallikutam system of education is characterized by the integral formation of students to equip them for the perception and realization of his/her mission in the world. It stands in contrast to different modern education systems that aim at making students just employable. So Chavara Academy endeavors to nurture leaders who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable, and who are open to further growth.

Chavara Academy is started as CBSE School in the year 09-05-2008 with the recognition of the State Education Board. In the year 2011 January 18 it has got No Objection Certificate from the State to apply for CBSE affiliation. CBSE Board granted Composite Provisional Affiliation for Secondary School Examination in the year 2012 April 1st.
